Off Grid Power Station visited Anker’s headquarters in Shenzhen, China, this year. It was a special visit during which we not only met the people behind Anker SOLIX but also had in-depth discussions about product development, innovation, marketing, and the future of energy storage in Europe.
We were warmly welcomed by Xuan (Carrie) Liu and the entire Anker team. During the visit, we held several discussions with specialists in product development, digital marketing, and management.
These were open and valuable discussions in which we were able to share our experiences from the Dutch and Belgian markets while gaining a better understanding of Anker’s vision and future plans.
Innovation starts with listening to the market
What particularly impressed us during our visit was not only the technology behind the products, but especially the way Anker develops new products.
They conduct extensive research into what consumers actually need. Feedback from various European markets is collected and incorporated into the development of new hardware and software.
New products aren’t just developed with more battery capacity or higher power output. Ease of use, safety, smart software, integration with existing solar panels, and the way households can manage their own energy are playing an increasingly important role.
This approach aligns well with what we see every day at Off Grid Power Station. The home battery is evolving beyond simply being a battery for storing solar power to becoming a complete system for smart energy management.
Anker SOLIX Solarbank MAX AC
A major addition to the product line is the Anker SOLIX Solarbank MAX AC.
With a battery capacity of 7 kWh and a maximum AC power output of 3,500 W, the Solarbank MAX AC is one of the most powerful plug-in home battery systems available today. Its storage capacity can also be expanded to a maximum of 42 kWh.
Among other things, the system was developed for households that already have solar panels and want to use more of the energy they generate themselves. Excess solar power can be stored during the day and used in the home at a later time.
Even for households without solar panels, opportunities are emerging to purchase, store, and use energy more efficiently at a later time.
Interest in the Solarbank MAX AC was already exceptionally high during the pre-sale. The first available units were snapped up quickly, which confirms to us that there is strong demand in the Netherlands and Belgium for more powerful and flexibly expandable plug-in home batteries.
The Next Generation: Anker SOLIX Solarbank 4
During our visit, we naturally also looked ahead.
One of the next major developments is the Anker SOLIX Solarbank 4, with which Anker aims to take another step forward in the field of smart energy storage for European households.
The market for home batteries is changing rapidly. Higher power outputs, larger battery capacities, and smart control systems are becoming increasingly important. At the same time, users expect the various components of their energy systems to work together more and more effectively.
We believe that it is precisely this combination of hardware and intelligent software that will play a key role in the development of home energy in the coming years.
Further Strengthening Strategic Cooperation
As a strategic partner of Anker SOLIX in the Netherlands and Belgium, we look forward with great confidence to the next phase of our partnership.
Our visit to Shenzhen has further strengthened that confidence. Behind the products is a large organization in which various teams work daily on product development, software, marketing, and the further development of energy solutions for the European market.
