The Anker SOLIX Backup Auto-Switch 63A Single-Phase is an automatic single-phase emergency power switch for the Anker SOLIX Solarbank Max and Solarbank Max AC. The Auto-Switch allows you to automatically switch from the public power grid to available energy from the home battery in the event of a power outage.
When combined with a compatible Solarbank Max, it provides a whole-home backup solution with up to 5,000 W of backup power. This ensures that the home’s electrical system remains connected to the backup system without the need to pre-select specific circuits as emergency power circuits.
The Backup Auto-Switch supports single-phase installations up to 63 A and features integrated energy metering. This combines automatic grid switching and the measurement of energy flows within a single component of the Anker SOLIX energy system.
A home battery cannot automatically provide emergency power to the entire home without additional equipment. In the event of a power outage, the electrical system must first be safely disconnected from the public power grid.
The Anker SOLIX Backup Auto-Switch automatically handles this disconnection.
When a power outage is detected, the grid connection is safely interrupted, and the Solarbank Max can supply the home with power from the battery.
As soon as the power grid is stable again, the system automatically switches back to normal grid power.
This eliminates the need for any manual intervention to switch between grid power and backup power.
Whole-home backup means that the backup system is connected to the home’s electrical system rather than just to a few selected circuits.
It is important to distinguish between whole-home backup and unlimited emergency power.
The Anker SOLIX Solarbank Max can provide up to 5,000 W of backup power in this configuration. For example, if multiple high-power electrical appliances are turned on at the same time during a power outage, the total power draw must remain within this limit.
This allows the available power to be used flexibly for the equipment that is most important at that moment.
